What is IrelandInsights?
IrelandInsights is an interactive civic intelligence platform that puts Ireland's open data on a map. It combines Census 2022 demographics, housing, economics, transport, energy performance, electoral results, and environmental data so you can explore and compare any part of the country spatially.
What can I do with it?
- Explore any metric across Ireland — switch between dozens of indicators and watch the map update instantly.
- Hover over any area to see that location's value, how it compares to the national average, and contextual signals.
- Compare counties using the Rankings panel — see the top and bottom performers for any metric.
- Select a county for a full profile: rank, context metrics, energy burden classification, and area-specific insights.
- Check weather and environment — live conditions, flood zone status, solar potential, and marine data for any point on the map.

Where does the data come from?
All data is sourced from Irish and EU public bodies. No data is invented, interpolated, or inferred. Every number on the map links directly to a primary source.
